Producing High Quality, High Profit Castings
How do we measure the Efficiency of a die casting operation? OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Lack of Repeatability is the primary cause for scrap. Visi-Trak Process Automation significantly improves OEE by identifying problems before they become major issues.
Determine key process parameters
Die, runner and gate design. Determine the optimal process.
Set high/low limits for alarms
Determine machine requirements PQ2. Process monitoring validates machine capabilities.
Take proactive Actions
Real time closed loop shot control systems = maximum level of repeatability.
The Right Process Monitoring
In order to monitor the repeatability of the rod & head pressure and shot velocity you need not just an accurate sensor but also a process monitoring system that utilizes a high speed, position-based data acquisition instead of time-based data acquisition.
This is because position-based data acquisition makes the “X Axis” fixed so that any variation will be seen by changes in the pressure curves and velocity curves on the “Y Axis”. It also generates more samples the faster the piston rod travels so you get a much more accurate view of the shot trace.
Dynamically Responsive Shot Control
Increase repeatability to reduce scrap and improve OEE.
Alarms for Variation
Trigger Digital IO alarms when you exceed those limits warn of process issue or machine issues. Catch issues before they become major problems and lead to significant scrap or unplanned machine downtime.
Superior Shot Control
Multiple Shot Overlay. Implement a real time closed loop shot control system with high performance valve package that is designed specifically for the die casting process. Dynamically Adjustable
Master Shot Trace
Master Shot Trace. Use a process monitoring system to verify quality based on the optimal shot trace. Save a master shot trace to reduce set up time. Minimize up scrap and set up time to improve your OEE.
